Procareful – an innovative model of care for the elderly

The PROCAREFUL (PROactive CARE For Users Life) project is implemented as part of the Interreg Central Europe program financed by the European Regional Development Fund. It is being implemented by the Italian Institute for Elderly Care I.S.R.A.A., which is also the project coordinator, in collaboration with eight partners from Croatia, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Poland, and Slovenia, as well as three associated partners from Italy and Slovenia. The project will run for three years.

PROCAREFUL aims to develop an innovative model of hybrid home care services to support independent living for older and vulnerable people in need of care, taking advantage of the opportunities offered by digital technologies in everyday life. The project aims to overcome the existing gap in the availability and timeliness of home care in cities and rural areas by expanding existing health and social care services and shifting from a reactive to a proactive approach. To achieve this, the partners are working on a solution that combines direct care with remote and digital support based on machine learning and artificial intelligence. The implementation of the model is being tested in five regions.
