The Gala summarizing the 10th anniversary of the Lublin IT Highlands is behind us. Our contribution and involvement in the development of the IT sector was recognized and we were awarded the Lublin Mayor's Medal! This honorary award was accepted on behalf of Britenet by Michal Zienkowski, our Head of Technology.

We have been associated with Lublin since 2008. From the beginning, we have been keen to ensure that the competence of our specialists and the quality of services provided by Britenet are unrivaled. That is why we constantly invest in training and take advantage of the potential of Lublin universities and the responsible way of building human resources in the company. - Michal Zienkowski mentions. - By giving our employees the opportunity to develop in international projects, we stop their migration, which drives the local economy and positively affects the perception of our IT environment. - he adds.

Presentation of Medals

This year's gala event summarizing the 10th anniversary of LWIT included honoring companies and individuals from the world of science who have contributed to the development of the IT industry in Lublin. The event was attended by more than 100 representatives of Lublin's IT ecosystem. Nearly 30 representatives of the business and academic communities were presented with Medals of the Mayor of Lublin in gratitude for their commitment to the development of Lublin's IT sector and co-creation of a strong IT ecosystem in Lublin.

10th anniversary of Lublin IT Highlands

A project called Lublin IT Highlands was developed and implemented 10 years ago by the City of Lublin. The initiative was included in the Lublin Development Strategy 2013-2020 as one of the City's priority industries. Over the years, activities and events have been held as part of the LWIT initiative to develop the industry in Lublin and create an IT ecosystem. As a result, more than 40 ICT companies - including Polish and foreign - have come to the city. Currently, Lublin is seen as a key location for the IT industry in Eastern Poland.

This year, the City of Lublin together with Lublin companies in November organized more than 70 meetings for pupils, students and professionals in the new technology industry. The initiative was aimed at highlighting the potential and creating a favorable climate for the development of the IT industry in Lublin. The meetings with IT specialists were aimed at expanding the participants' knowledge of new technologies and introducing Lublin's IT potential as an excellent place to develop and work in the information technology industry.

We, too, joined this initiative and prepared an event in our Lublin office called "Take a step towards an IT career". Sara Jurczyk-Zielińska, Wiktoria Gąsieniec, Sylwia Szpiega-Kułacka and Tomek Banach spoke at the meeting. They talked about changes in their career paths and how they managed to find their place in the IT industry. The road to success was not always easy and very often required persistence, patience and hard work from our heroes. As it turns out - it paid off and today they can fulfill themselves in their work, which they genuinely enjoy! After the speeches were over, there was time for a Q&A session, during which participants could ask questions, and our speakers rose to the challenge to answer them!

The meeting was aimed at students who are just beginning to think about choosing their career path, but also those people who want to change careers and need confirmation that the decision they are about to make is the right one!
